P&G Indonesia officially inaugurated a new plant in Jakarta on December 5th, 2013.

Dimitri Panayotopoulos, vice chairman, P&G, joined the company’s top leaders in Indonesia, plus local representatives from the Indonesian government, to open the new plant in a traditional Indonesian ceremony.

Under construction since 2011, the plant is now ready to be fully operational and serve the growing demand for our products in Indonesia and Asia—approximately 8 million Indonesian babies alone within the next five years.

The plant in Jakarta is one of P&G’s largest plants in the region. It has earned Silver LEED Certification. It is sustainable by design, and equipped with the most advanced environmentally-responsible and resource-efficient technology and production processes.

The plant will primarily produce Pampers diapers for the local market, but will also serve as the source of exports needed to balance supply and demand in the region, and be a regional hub for raw materials supplies.
